About The Summer House
The Summer House employs 952 artisans and focuses on sustainability with 23.87% of its garments made from handwoven fabrics. This includes 1398.2 meters of khadi ordered, a process that involves spinning yarn by hand and weaving the fabric without electricity, emphasizing traditional techniques and environmental consciousness.
Artisan Partnership
The brand's greatest passion is working with rural artisans to sustain traditional craft techniques and textiles. By directly collaborating with artisans or partnering with local NGOs that support them, The Summer House helps protect craft communities from exploitative practices. To date, they maintain ongoing partnerships with 17 craft clusters across India, enabling them to design original textiles and handmade garments that bridge ancient craftsmanship with modern wardrobes.
Sustainability
The Summer House is committed to high quality, responsibly made fabrics, preferring handwoven, organic, and innovative materials such as ECONYL regenerated nylon and ethical tencel. They continuously seek innovative ways to maintain the highest ethical and environmental standards.
Focus on Quality
Mindful fashion is central to The Summer House, where post-sale garment life and care are crucial. Their clothes are designed to last, seen as heritage pieces to be cherished and passed on to future generations. All garments are suitable for machine or hand washing and do not require dry cleaning.
